Morrison Water Services, as part of the Caledonia Water Alliance, donate lifesaving defibrillator
1st November 2024
As part of the Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA), we have donated a defibrillator to the community of the Isle of Lewis, Scotland.
In 2023, we successfully delivered the water mains rehabilitation project for the Back Tolsta Project. While undertaking this work, we were made aware that an additional defibrillator wad needed to provide coverage for the area.
We therefore donated an additional defibrillator, to make sure the community had the resources to keep safe. This defibrillator is available for the public to access.
Omer Satmis, Site Manager at CWA, said: “ I hope that we will never need to use it, but if we do, the help will always be there. A special thank you to all the local people for being part of our team and working closely with us.”
Andrew Monaghan, CWA Operations Manager, said: “CWA engaged with the local community throughout the project. The community understood the benefits of the investment being made and were supportive of the project throughout.
“During these positive engagements, the need for a defibrillator was mentioned and how this could further benefit the local and wider community. CWA were only too happy to assist with providing this unit to further our goal in leaving a positive community legacy.”
Across Morrison Water Services, we are passionate about protecting the communities in which we work, in line with our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments.
