Morrison Water Services pilot event success leads to new team-building programme
8th August 2024
Our Service Delivery Team working on the Thames Water Metering, Developer Services and Major Projects contract recently celebrated a successful "One Team" event at their Dartford depot and training area. Following a successful pilot, the event has become a regular programme, allowing more team members to participate.
The event brought together members from the Service Delivery Team for a day of practical tasks, activities, and demonstrations. Participants engaged in live digs, wearing PPE, and experienced hands-on tasks usually seen only on screens. Activities focused on spatial awareness, communication, and the core principles of our One Team initiative. The day concluded with a brainstorming session aimed at refining processes, boosting productivity, and enhancing safety.
A post-event survey showed a significant increase in motivation and a 53% improvement in knowledge among attendees, who found the event both informative and enjoyable.
Head of Service Delivery, Kate Hofstetter, commented, “The event was energetic, productive, and positive, uniting the team. We shared solutions to our challenges, and the diverse range of participants enabled real-time collaboration. The hands-on demonstrations provided invaluable insights into the challenges faced by our operatives in the field. Despite the hot weather, attendees left motivated and upbeat. The event not only facilitated collaboration within the Service Delivery and Operational teams but also strengthened relationships across the team. Having key members engage and share ideas has been truly inspiring.”
The event has enhanced attendees' skills and knowledge, providing practical experience for their daily tasks. It also allowed team members to meet in person and build stronger relationships. The team plans to hold the event quarterly, with managers nominating participants to benefit from this unique learning experience.
