Morrison Water Services recognised for innovative technology solutions at TechFest Awards 2024

We are proud to announce that we have been recognised for our commitment to implementing innovative technology solutions to benefit the needs of our clients and their customers, through our shortlisting at the TechFest Awards 2024.

The TechFest Awards, which take place on Wednesday 27 November at the Hilton Metropole London, recognise and reward the projects, teams and companies doing the most to harness technologies that drive the construction and civil engineering industries forward. These prestigious awards are supported by both New Civil Engineer and Construction News.

Shortlisted in the ‘Best Use of Technology: Smart Data Collection in Construction’ category, we are proud to be recognised alongside Hydraulic Analysis Limited (HAL) and Yorkshire Water for the introduction of real-time Geographic Information System (GIS) based pipeline simulator, VariSim Delta.

Using VariSim Delta digital twin, near real-time data is used to drive a hydraulic model of our client’s network, helping to identify leaks, predicting bursts and measuring water quality. Powered by high-quality sensors within pipeline inspection and repair equipment, we can provide a solution which will identify the root cause of the network issue.

This innovative leakage detection technology has so far been utilised across 120 hotspot areas of the network where it has been historically difficult to identify and rectify leakage. The level of in-depth information analysed through the technology has been impressive, giving our client the opportunity to make tactical decisions to limit service impact to customers.

Water is a precious resource and as the exclusive UK supplier of VariSim Delta, we are proud to have introduced a solution which supports our clients to protect it. By improving leakage detection, a key challenge within the industry, we are supporting our clients in saving water, minimising supply issues for customers, reducing cost and and helping to leave more water in the environment to sensitive habitats, such as chalk streams.
