M Group Services, a leading provider of services to essential infrastructure markets in the UK, has celebrated the delivery and dedication of people who have gone the extra mile in its first Beyond Expectations Awards ceremony.
Designed to recognise great performance across M Group Services and its operating businesses, the event was hosted by Andrew Findlay, M Group Services’ Chief Financial Officer and Designate CEO, at the Soho Hotel in London.
The awards, the first to be hosted across the whole Group, reflect its four values: People, Safety, Delivery and Integrity.
Andrew Findlay said: “Our people are the heart of our organisation and all it achieves. Our new Beyond Expectations Awards are an important way to recognise the brilliance and success of our people who regularly go above and beyond in their delivery for our clients and their customers.
“We are proud to celebrate their achievements and it was a privilege for me to present the awards. I congratulate everyone who has been recognised this year.”
Presenting our award winners and runners up for Morrison Water Services:
Leader of the Year:
Winner - Kerry Duke, Head of Service Delivery for Morrison Water Services on the Thames Water contract is known as a truly inspirational and dynamic leader. Kerry goes above and beyond in her commitment to Morrison Water Services.
Runner up - Jack Palin, Commercial Manager at Morrison Water Services, has achieved the runner up award. Jack has shown fantastic leadership skills towards those around him. He shows trust and belief in people, allowing them to shine in their own individual.
Safe Team of the Year:
Runner up - Thames Water Smart Metering team who have achieved an unbelievable milestone of seven million people hours without a major accident (RIDDOR). The team has installed more than 900,000 smart meters for Thames Water, involving over 350,000 excavations.
Individual Delivery Award:
Runner up - Abi Masters, Solutions Support Lead at Morrison Water Services. Abi always takes time to highlight opportunities for improvement, and her tenacity has been noticed by Welsh Water’s Head of Network Water Alliance who has praised her focus and quality of delivery.
Team Delivery Award:
Winner - Ari Fileman, Task Team Leader and Edward Stewart, General Operative from Morrison Water Services. Both relatively new to the water industry, Ari and Edward are both recognised for their passion and commitment, helping to make customer’s experiences positive ones.
Community Leader Award:
Winner - Kevin Levens, Project Manager at Morrison Water Services. Kevin planned a community project, revamping a nature garden in St Michael in the Hamlet Community Primary School in Liverpool.
Runner up - Jen Goldsworthy, Resourcing Manager at M Group Services’ Water Division. Jen used her own initiative to engage with the Prison Service to establish an employment opportunity for ex-prisoners. Jen’s hard work and dedication to this project reflects our commitment to providing social value.
Environmental Sustainability Award:
Winner - Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) Burncrooks project team. CWA balanced numerous environmental constraints to deliver the Burncrooks project. The team ensured the animals such as bats and fish, whose habitat was affected by the projects, were safely relocated.
Additionally, the judges awarded Highly Commended certificates to six people who they felt deserved special recognition.
Chris West, Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Advisor for Morrison Water Services Dwr Cymru Welsh Water contract. Chris assisted an injured person after suffering a head injury from a Road Traffic Incident. He immediately applied first aid and stabilised the injured person before the ambulance arrived.
