Asset Condition Assessment & Design

  • We have experience in using this asset data to support the delivery of solutions such as water quality mains cleaning, aqueduct trunk main, and distribution mains renewals. This data can also help provide renovation no-dig options and the development of smart networks.
  • Our approach is underpinned by our commitment to innovation and an ability to analyse the network in a forward-thinking and less disruptive way. Innovations such as Virtual Trial Hole Assistant, FINDIT Leakage Detection Technology, the application of drone technology, implementation of digital twin, and assessment of numerous no-dig options such as localised repairs without digging help us complete projects within a good timeframe and with minimal disruption. What's more, Morrison Water Services are pioneers in pressure CIPP lining technology, spray lining and other techniques.

  • We have also undertaken network modelling for clients' in order to optimise any solutions that are required to support pressure management from water quality programmes and renewal solutions
  • Any design solutions provided take into account not only the engineering requirements but their impact on customers', their value in relation to net zero targets, and future operational use. This provides all our customers with a true TOTEX solution
  • Following asset health assessment, all solutions support our clients' regulatory objectives and resilience of their assets

ePIPE

INTRODUCTION
ePIPE® is an innovative pipe restoration lining technology developed to address the lead (Pb) contamination, corrosion and leakage challenges assocaited with small diameter water company and customer side service pipes.

It provides an internationally proven cost effective and sustainable alternative to small diameter pipe replacement for both internal pipe work and buried service pipes. The patented process effectively lines the service pipe internally to create a barrier between the pipe material and water supply which results in
compliant water quality. It also seals pin-holes preventing damage and water loss resulting from leaking pipes.

Service pipes are cleaned to remove corrosion and then lined using a safe and durable epoxy resin based solution without excavation or the need to
disturb building fabric to replace or repair pipes. Lining is cured in two hours resulting in an improved water quality with minimal interruption to supply.

ADVANTAGES AT A GLANCE
• Reduction in Customer side Leakage. The epoxy lined pipe, ePIPE® will last for years, preventing leaking problems in customer’s piping system.

• Water quality compliance for dissolved lead in water. Ensures the dissolved lead compliance levels significantly below 5?g/l.

• Customer benefit. Limited customer impact and supply interruption with little or no reinstatement required. Two hours cure time with same day return to service.

• Non disruptive. With just two hours cure time, ePIPE® solves both the service pipe leakage and dissolved lead issues without the need to relay the pipe.

• Cost effective. Line both the communication pipe and supply pipe in the same setup from TAP to FERRULE makes it the most cost-effective complete industry solution.

• NET-ZERO. A sustainable solution with a significantly lower carbon footprint than pipe relay and other alternative methods.

• Lead Smart Property Certifitcate option. Certificate option can be issued for household assurance against lead in drinking water.

• Versatile host pipe solution. ePIPE® lining can be applied to lead, copper, galvanised or plastic services and internal pipework.

SUSTAINABILITY
• No new plastic pipe needed
• No new building fabric replacement
• Trenchless solution
• No tarmac required + backfill
• Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals 2015
• Aligned with Ofwat Green Recovery Programme Goals
• Aligned with the ‘Water UK’ Net-Zero 2030 targets and routemap strategy goals

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
• Can be used for complex configurations and internal pipework
• Can be lined through pre-installed boundary box
• Risk of damaging adjacent services such as telecom, gas or electric during replacement is eliminated
• Improving water flow by removing encrusted corrosion and deposits
• Sealing pinhole leaks and preventing further internal corrosion
• Reducing discolouration
• Restrictions and costs associated with excavations are reduced
• Heavy plant and equipment working in and around the home or facility are no longer required
