Morrison Water Services supporting Martin House Children’s Hospice

25th January 2022

Morrison Water Services’ team on its Yorkshire Water contract recently presented a cheque for the money raised from its Health and Safety Site Observation Campaign.

Martin House is a children’s hospice in Boston Spa, Leeds, supporting babies, children, and young people with life-shortening conditions, as well as their families. Martin House relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising to provide the required care and support to 428 children and young people, and 155 bereaved families.

Martin House was close to the heart of everyone working on the Yorkshire Water WSP contract when it was chosen as the charity for the Health and Safety Site Observation Campaign. The Health and Safety Site Observation Campaign encouraged our people to combine best health and safety practice with supporting an outstanding cause, and with 50p donated for every submitted site observation, Morrison Water Services managed to raise a staggering £342.50 for Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Kev Davies, Morrison Water Services TM Operative, proudly presented Chris Verney from Martin House with the cheque. Kev felt honoured to be shown around the beautiful gardens of Martin House by Chris, whilst he shared the outstanding love, care and support Martin House provides to so many children and their families.

This was Morrison Water Services’ first visit to Martin House, and it most certainly will not be the last.

As a business, Morrison Water Services is committed to supporting the communities it serves, and the money raised for Martin House is a perfect example of this. Wherever possible, the people of Morrison Water Services look to find ways of helping local people and charities and the use of the Health and Safety Site Observation Campaign was a great way to use the work we do to support an outstanding cause.

Back to all.
