Morrison Water Services win health and safety award for using AI to improve on-site safety

20th June 2022

Morrison Water Services, a part of M Group Services’ Water Division, has won the Operational Contractors Health and Safety Award in the Dwr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW) Health, Safety and Wellbeing Awards.

Morrison Water Services, which has a long-standing partnership with DCWW, won the award for its use of FYLD, an artificial intelligence (AI) safety and productivity platform that is embedding smarter supervision across our delivery for DCWW, revolutionising our approach to safety and customer service.

FYLD is positively promoting the importance of field teams actively engaging with site hazards and control measures and making our field work sites more open, transparent and accessible to everyone involved, including our clients. Using FYLD’s collaborative environment, field workers and operations managers are in constant communication with each other.

Through real-time feedback and intervention, Morrison Water Services has improved safety on site, driven up risk assessment standards and, because such assessments take less time to complete, increased team productivity, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness as a trusted delivery partner to DCWW. Morrison Water Services is committed to wider deployment and future development of the tool working with DCWW.

Morrison Water Services is also aware of present and future savings being made to the environment, supporting our net-zero goals by reducing the amount of paper used and the miles travelled across the DCWW region to supervise teams.

Andrew Pinkham, Head of SHEQ (Northern Region) for Morrison Water Services, said: “FYLD is clearly demonstrating that good safety practices lead to enhanced customer service, effective productivity gains and higher quality of workmanship. We are delighted to have won this award, which reflects our continuous commitment to the highest possible standards of health and safety and our use of innovation to deliver what we promise to our clients.”

DCWW announced the winners at its conference at Swansea University Bay Campus.

Congratulations to all involved.

Back to all.
