Our Pilgrimage for Charity
13th June 2022
Adam Meacham, Divisional SHEQ Support Manager, Water Division, and Simon Michie, Quality and Environmental Manager for Morrison Energy Services are halfway through their pilgrimage walks of Britain.
Since January, Adam and Simon have been walking some of the most historic paths in Britain to raise money for two fantastic charities - Help4Homeless Veterans and Action for Children.
Adam and Simon have already walked over 110 miles and at the half-way point for their pilgrimage, they still have a way to go.
Adam said: “We have seen some of the most inspiring landscapes and spiritual places in Britain but there’s a lot of beautiful scenery and historical sites left to see.”
This month, they are walking from the Seahouses to Holy Island in Northumberland. July will see them going on a prehistoric pilgrimage from Avebury to Stonehenge, Wiltshire.
They will follow the Path of St David in Wales in August and September will see them go from Danby to Whitby, North Yorkshire.
By October, the team will be closer to home walking from Thetford to Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
November is the penultimate pilgrimage of 2022, St Milburga’s in Shropshire which goes from Ironbridge and climbs the dramatic limestone escarpment of Wenlock Edge.
Their final walk, in December, is going to be a sacred London pilgrimage passing the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey and Cathedral.
We are proud of the pair and their determination to travel round the country and raise money for such worthwhile causes. We wish them the best of luck on the second half of their charitable expedition.
