Jamie Tharme helps member of the public during serious incident

26th May 2023

Jamie Tharme, Barrier Person on Morrison Water Services’ Dwr Cymru Welsh Water contract, helped a member of the public to safety in a serious incident that took place in Bodelwyddan, Wales.

Jamie was in the village on his way to work when he noticed a lady standing next to her car in the layby. As Jamie drove past, he saw fire coming from her car. When it was safe to do so, he made a U-turn and headed back to help the lady, parking a safe distance away.

Putting his hazard lights on in an attempt to alert people and slow down the busy traffic, he then approached the lady and took her to his van to make sure she was out of danger. Then he called the emergency services. Jamie stayed with the lady until the fire brigade arrived.

If it wasn’t for Jamie’s help, the lady could have been injured. Jamie stayed with the lady, keeping her calm until her partner arrived to pick her up.

As part of our commitment to ESG, we prioritise safety and looking after one another. Jamie, having quickly considered the potential risks, demonstrated incredible bravery and kept calm in this situation. Thanks to his consideration, the woman involved remained safe and free from harm.

Well done for your heroic actions, Jamie.
